As we know, high-net-worth home buyers hailing from tech-driven fields like life sciences, engineering, technology, and telecommunication are shaping real estate markets around the nation and in Seattle and Eastside markets. Did you know though that perhaps more surprisingly they are also significantly influencing outlying more rural areas??
As reported in the Seattle Times, in the Puget Sound region, we see strong price appreciation in all areas, with the highest growth reaching nearly 30% in certain communities such as Kirkland and Sammamish and a number of other areas of King and Snohomish Counties such as the I-90 and Hwy 2 corridors. That's lots of cash for homeowners who choose to capture equity and sell.💵💰💲

Because high percentages of jobs are now remote, many homebuyers can choose to live in the communities that they feel are most suited to their lifestyles, whether that is an urban city, a more casual suburban community, or in outlying towns and properties near play and recreation.
Nationally and locally we are seeing this play out in the list of top 20 emerging housing markets for October 2021 which was dominated by smaller markets both here in western WA and around the nation.
Though commutes are no longer a major issue for many homebuyers electric charging facilities and smart features are becoming increasingly important and can be great features to consider adding to a remodel and to highlight if you bring your home to market. Additionally, homebuyers cite that a well-kept yard and grass are top features in their choice of a new home.
