The amount of gains vary by area moving out of and into, according to a new analysis by StorageCafe, with some of the best gains being had by sellers moving within or out of Seattle and Bellevue. Simply exchanging your four-bedroom home for a two-bedroom within the greater Seattle/Tacoma/Eastside area the analysis says will net the average homeowner approximately $298,000 while moving from Seattle to the greater Tacoma area nets an estimated $804,000.
Looking for an even greater average gain? Consider Bellevue to Seattle at $939,000, Bellevue to Tacoma at $1.36M, or even downsizing within Bellevue netting an average savings of $1M.
